Turck has launched the BCC sensor series especially for the level measurement of plastic granulates. The capacitive sensors of the BCC series can detect even the smallest grain sizes. They also offer a high level of EMC performance and are especially resistant to electrostatic discharge (ESD). This is a frequent problem that very often causes sensor failure with plastic granulates in pipe systems and silos.

Another challenge of the level measuring of plastic granulate is the mounting in metal flanges, which prevents unrestricted detection and thus the fault-free operation of the electronics, since the lateral predamping drastically reduces the switching distance. BCC sensors can also effectively exclude this interference factor thanks to the lateral shielding provided and an integrated processor unit. In this way, the user can utilise the full switching distance.
